Gobbler Knob Long Rifles Custom Turkey Call #3

Over the course of the last four decades, my overwhelming passion for the sport of turkey hunting has evolved into the art of building collector-grade box calls. I also developed and maintained a passion for black powder hunting during that same time.

Call #3 of 3 is a variation of my Appalachian model.  It features a  figured black walnut paddle and claro walnut base.  The sound rails are book-matched ambrosia maple.  The accent piece on the paddle handle is cut from the same piece of maple.

The dogwood blossom inlay consists of individual pieces of white mother of pearl.  The pistil is gold mother of pearl.  The leaves are individual pieces of paua abalone.  It was painstakingly inlaid by hand using fine inletting chisels.

This call was created especially for the St. Jude fundraising auction and is valued at $125.00.
